Tessori bemoans 'downfall of cricket hero'
Pakistan
Attacking military installations is not acceptable under any circumstances
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori on Tuesday took a swipe at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, saying the cricket hero of yesteryear had damaged his reputation following the May 9 mayhem.
Expressing his views on the events that took place on May 9, Mr Tessori said, "The country's reputation was tarnished after the May 9 riots. In the past, I felt good when people would ask me to meet Imran Khan. But now I would like to request the people not to ask me to meet Imran Khan."
"Attacking military installations and setting fire to ambulances is not acceptable in any way," he said.
On Monday, Mr Tessori announced his mission to establish the metropolis as a prominent IT centre. Under his ambitious plan, IT education will be made accessible to 50,000 youngsters.
Mr Tessori expressed his determination at a meeting with the head of Saylani Welfare International Trust and he highlighted the promising developments in the field of information technology. The governor stressed the importance of preparing the youth to meet the challenges of the digital age.
